New Charity shop on the Rise
Kensal Rise residents will now have somewhere to take their surplus clothes, books and bric-a-brac as the Centre For Peaceful solutions shop opens its doors from 14th December. The shop, at 18 Chamberlayne Road, is the first charity shop on the Rise for over a decade.
The shop will be raising funds to support conflict resolution and non-violent communication in our neighbourhood. The Centre for Peaceful Solutions has been based in Chamberlayne road for more than 10 years but this is their first foray into the world of retail.
“We are a local independent charity specialising in community mediation, conflict resolution and restorative justice for neighbours and families” explains Maria Arpa. The centre is opening a new centre soon so the shop will help support their work. “We still need volunteers to help run the shop and, of course, regular donations of new stock” says Maria.
